TT #39: food / snacks

Thirteen favourite food / snacks

It has been studied, researched and proven, but I could have told you easily anyway: a person watching his or her weight is (to a lesser or a higher degree) obsessed with food. I'm no exception, so this week's TT is all about food! :-)

  • chocolate - especially white and milk (or white & milk) chocolate! Swiss chocolate is great, Belgian chocolate is yummy... I'm an incurable chocoholic.
  • ice cream - o yeah... favourites are Häagen Dazs, Ben & Jerry's, but I like all ice cream esp. fruit flavoured
  • strawberries - new and fresh with sugar or sweetener, or chocolate!
  • pizza salami & old cheese - esp. Dr. Oetker's with a lot of extra old cheese on top
  • Old Amsterdam cheese - I love all cheese, but Old Amsterdam is the ultimate for me.
  • smoked eel - you can wake me up in the middle of the night, but they need to be fresh and in skin, and you have to have enough to make me happy! ;-)
  • mussels - preferably from Yerseke in Zeeland, cooked with mussel herbs
  • chips, esp. Chipito or Nacho Cheese - I can do without, but when I start with one...
  • chicken - It's the reason I'm not a vegetarian, but to compensate I always use free-range chicken. I can eat chicken every day and never get tired of it.
  • chewing gum - sugar free fruit mix bubblegum from Mentos at the moment, but I like most gums!
  • acid drops - normal ones, but also extra acid ones that causes me to make silly faces ;-)
  • liquorice - sweet coins, but also double salty. I can't have too much, because it increases the blood pressure
  • vegetables eaten raw and fruits - tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, etc: healthy and yummy! Fruits: kiwi, green apple, ananas, pear... all!

O-oh, now I'm hungry...

  1. I like my chocolate the opposite to you - dark and bitter. Either Green and Blacks or Hotel Chocolate if it's bought or really nice hand made ones.

  7. Your list made me hungry! Particularly for mint chocolate chip ice cream. I don't think I've ever had eel, but since I'm 100% with you on the mussels, your recommendation gives me the courage to try it.

  8. Since I did never heard the word mussels in english before university, one of the guys in my dorm came to ask if we wanted some and I mistook it for muscles!!! pretty funny situation!!
    Happy TT!!

  9. Eel?! Really? I've never eaten one, but I have caught one fishing and dammit it was disgusting looking.

Yum! Great list. You just made me hungry for some Nachos with cheese dip.

And chocolate? Any time. Any where. *grin* I love it. Especially dark chocolate and chocolate with nuts.

  15. You're hungry? I just read the list, got hungry, lost my appetite (eels, ew), but then regained my appetite.

I have been doing weight watchers, so most anything salty appeals to me. good luck

  16. I love ice cream and raw veggies/fruit too! Not usually together though... :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I like most of the things on your list (chocolate, ice cream...), but EEL?!?!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous10/5/07 08:41

I with you all the way! I could possible forsake all other goodies if I could have chocolate every day! :) Great TT!

Mussels are something I just can't manage to eat. I grew up on the coast where they were plentiful and every once in a while I make an attempt to try eating them (they say our tastes change as we age) but to date, I've had no success. Probably a good thing since I don't live anywhere near the coast these days and it's hard enough to keep me in lobster ;)

  25. I basically love everything on your list!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. it's past midnite here and your list just made me hungry!!! now i'm starving for some pizza!!! huh!!! what a great idea for this week's T13 list!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Did anyone say Chocolate and Icecream? Two of my essential food groups - except funnily enough I don't like Chocolate icecream! Happy TT

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mmmmm.... good thing I ate lunch before visiting your TT! My weaknesses are dark chocolate and buttered popcorn. Or tortilla chips with guacamole.

Fortunately, I also love healthy food like fruits and vegetables, but they're good for me, so I don't consider them weaknesses. :)

  29. OH YUMMY food! I love chocolate. I got one up. It is @ Thursday 13

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love you list and especially #1!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yummy! I just got back from the gym and now I want to eat your list!! I had some smoked eel once...not sure if I liked it...but I will try anything once! I'm guessing "Acid Drops" are sour candies? My son loves those, me not so much. Chicken and veggies...right on! I eat chicken everyday too, and it was the reason I stopped being a vegitarian!

    Great List
    Happy TT

  39. what is old cheese? And smoked eel sounds um yucky

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ewww I despise liquorice but my husband misses it so badly! You can't get hard liquorice around here. mmm Now I want some yummy milk chocolate!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yum! Some of those sound delicious. Of course, as a cat, I can't have chocolate. My human mom, however, loves both white and very dark chocolate.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Foie gras...an expensive and guilty pleasure...you can't talk about your love of it with just anyone. It's the new veal in terms of the terrible things that are done with the ducks to obtain this sinfully delicious treat. But, come on, ducks have been pooping on my sidwalk forever...surely they are due a little payback!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yum Yum.. now i'm hungry also :)
    Happy Thursday to you.

    ReplyDelete

  48. Mmmmm...smoked eel sounds purdy good! We did not see fishy flakes or Tuna Temptation snacks on yer list. We also like crickets and an occasional earthworm.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ice cream, ice cream, I am FOR that! I have never heard of acid drops though.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I agree with everything except the eel. I don't think I could be tempted to even try it. I know, I know, I don't know what I'm missing, right?

  53. Oooh I love muscles! I think it has to do with the fact I was raised on th east coast of Canada and they are very popular and easy to catch.

Ice cream and pop corn are favourites of mine too.

    Now I'm hungry!
