TT #48: essentials

TT48

Thirteen things I can’t (or don’t want to…) live without

Besides the obvious (hubby, family, friends, pets, etc.) there are things I can't (or don't want to) miss in my daily life. Here they are in no particular order!

  • Books & magazines - Who can live without reading? I certainly can't.
  • Computer - It's a necessity of life for me, I get withdrawal symptoms if I have to do without... I know, I'm seriously addicted.
  • Chocolate - If I don't have any for a long while and start craving, better be aware... the choccie monster will come out! To prevent I treat myself often. ;-)
  • Music - Silence may be golden, but I need to hear music all day or at least every day!
  • Witchcraft - It is such an essential part of me, I can't imagine life without it.
  • Nature - The beach, trees, water, woods, mountains, plants, animals... We can't literally live without it, but I need to spend time in nature to enjoy and recharge.
  • Jeans - I wear jeans every day; in summer with a shirt or blouse, in winter with a jumper or sweater.
  • Writing - Doesn't matter whether it's on the PC or with pen and paper. I like to write lists, blogs, diaries, poems, etc.
  • Pictures - Digital or printed, I love to look at all my pictures. Memories of people, places, events, history and so much more!
  • Coca Cola light (Diet) - I've really tried to reduce my intake. I know the sweeteners are bad, especially in the quantity I use them. Still, , I can't manage to drink less for longer than a few days.
  • Car - I don't dislike public transport at all, but I'd miss the convenience of having a car. Some places are hard to reach, the journey is more comfortable and faster. And I just like to drive (myself or next to someone else).
  • TV - I could live without, but I don't want to.
  • Money - no need to explain I guess!?

I realize how lucky I am to not having to live without these things. So many people in the world are less fortunate. I know and I care, so I share!

  1. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to one extent or another I'd prefer not to do without. I'll take pepsi (diet) instead of coke but I'm an adict to it. The rest wouldn't bother me so much although I'd rather only give up money if everyone else did as well.

  2. 1, 2, 4 are must haves for me.

  3. I am with you on most of these! Especially Diet Coke! I miss Coke light from when I lived in Germany! Much better than Diet Coke! Thanks for visiting mine!

    Check out my contest!

  4. Oh my! We have the same requirements for a happy life! :) I couldn't go without any of those. I do not practice witchcraft/wicca but I am fascinated by it and read books on the subject quite often. How anyone can live without chocolate is beyond me! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! Have a great weekend!

  5. Seems the world would end without Diet Coke - I admit I have the same DC addiction :)

  6. I can live without TV as long as I have the computer with me and that I can blog, my organ to play different pieces.
    My T13 is up too.

  7. Things I can agree with are:
Chocolat, dark with Rum n Raisins!
    Music!
Nature, naturally (pardon the punn) but I work in a Botanic Garden!
Coke (as in Coca Cola and not the other stuff...)!
Car, I love my car. It is a little old Suzuki Vitara (Sidekick I think it is called in other parts of the world or is it a Samuri??)
Oh and most definately, both a PC and the TV!!!

Our list is up if you have the time to stop by...

  8. Books, books, books. Who can have enough. I need my computer and camera as well.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I couldn't live without reading, that's for sure! Nature, jeans, and pictures, either.

  10. Hey, Tink! I am with you on many of these -- not Diet Coke, though. Give it to me loaded!!!!

Yes, we ARE fortunate -- doubly so because we realize it. I just wish there was an easier way to spread it around more. *sigh*

    Happy TT regardless.

  11. I don't care much for Diet Coke or TV, but the rest of the stuff I wouldn't want to be without for long (changing witchcraft to my own religion of course!)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Books books books. My favorite things on your list!

    Happy Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  13. TV isn't that hard to live without. Happy TT.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Great list! Books are right at the top of mine, too. :) And I love Coke, but the good old original - no diet version for me thankyouverymuch! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy TTing!

  16. Yep, I could skip out on the tv and have weaned myself off the diet coke..and I am not into witchcraft, but the rest of the list can be shared.
I like how you had reading first, can't imagine life without that.

  17. great list! i'm so there with you, especially on the chocolate and the music. heck, a day in heaven would be eating chocolate all day while listening to my ipod. happy tt!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I can't live without my coffee! Happy TT.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Great list Tink! I wouldn't want to live without most of those things either. Books, computer, and pictures (or should I say camera) are must haves for me.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

  25. Blessed be! love your list.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Most of those are must-haves for me too. I've never had the chance to learn enough about witchcraft for that one, and I easily go 6 months a year without wearing jeans (it's too darn hot here in the summer), but the rest of those are spot on.

    ReplyDelete
  27. There are a few there I couldn't do without either, books, tv, music etc. I could do without money, but only if I could get stuff for free ;)

    Happy T13

    ReplyDelete
  28. I love your list. My Mommie loves reading, too. And I love when she reads because it is the best lap time for me!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Funny, every one of those things is on my list. add my family and animals and I could hide from the universe quite happily. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm with you on most of those (except the withccraft, the coke and the TV), although they probably wouldn't have been my first choice if this would've been my TT. ;o)
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Great idea for a TT! I'm going to have to borrow it. I soooo can't live without chocolate either :) Happy TT and thank you for stopping by!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Books, chocolate, writing and nature are high on my list too! No pepsi or coke for me though. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  33. TV, Music and Books are always high on my list. Oh and money does help...:)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Great list....most of them are must haves for me too:)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have to agree with almost all of these. Except mine has to be Vanilla Coke. Except they don't make them anymore. So I take original Coca-Cola and add vanilla extract to it. Yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh I'd just die without being able to curl up on the couch with my jeans on, a laptop in front of me, and a diet coke in hand!

    ReplyDelete
  37. All Important things in life and most would find a spot on my list as well, though I might dump chocolate for coffee

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love almost every single one of these!! They are things I can't live without too!! Happy TT!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Witchcraft I could do without - personally, but get that others couldn't. Coke [before they made the change] I couldn't do without, now, no problem. I can do without a car...would rather not but could do it.

Everything else, I'd struggle not having access to. Yup, we are pretty lucky.

    ReplyDelete
  40. What a wonderful list! I heartily agree with all of it!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, except for the car, our lists are almost IDENTICAL. I couldn't live without the Internet or the TV. I'm a news junkie. And Coke ... love it, love it, love it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Great list! Happy TT.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I definitely would not want to lose my books or my computer. I have a lot of books that I read over & over. I don't usually like to buy a book, if it is not something I am going to read over & over.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree with you on a lot of those!!! I'm also a diet coke addict. Great list.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'd give up my diet Coke before I'd give up my computer! I'd even give up chocolate first! But God is tops of all on my list, everything else in life I can live without.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, I think I have to agree with you on all points...I don't drink a lot of pop, but once in a while I drink Diet Coke. Jeans and nature and pagan traditions the best!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I am so with you on the Chocolate,
    Diet Coke, and pictures.
    Awesome Thursday Thirteen!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes, I can relate to many of those (especially the chocolate!)

Mine is up, 13 pictures of my family.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hey Tink

Thanks for the read... Mine would be my bike (bicyle). I've lost 15.5lbs in the last 6 weeks.

    Thanks again

    I have two TT13s:

Greetings from one TTer (and pagan-flavored too) to another. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. I wouldn't want to live w/o my tv, car, or computer either. But chocolate is not a luxury, it is a necissity! lol Happy Thursday!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I agree with just about all the items on your list! How lucky we are.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Terrific list! Nature, music and books are certainly things my humans don't want to live without, and I know my human mom loves her Coke Light!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh boy do I agree with you on the #2, #3, #4, #8, #11, #13.... It's amazing at what "little" things that have such a big affect on us... :) Happy TT a day late!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Chocolates! You're dead on. When will people realize that chocolates can solve ALL the world's problem and create world peace? lol. I agree with you on all except Jeans, Coca Cola, Car and TV. =P I want to sound better-than-thou by saying I can't live without money too but then everyone knows I'm lying, hahaha!

Happy TT! (I know this is belated)

    ReplyDelete
